Engaging Students To Transform One Another
Power Tie Giveaway is a very unique evidence based curriculum that develops Social Emotional Learning outcomes & Career & Technical Education soft skills in middle and high school boys and girls. We use learning how to knot a necktie as the engagement piece and utilize peer to peer learning to get students out of their seats, off their phones and thinking on their feet.
Using Peer to Peer Learning
We teach a seven lesson curriculum that guides students in activities where they don’t even know they are learning. What they learn are SEL and CTE core competencies that include Self-Management, Self-Awareness, Responsible Decision Making, Relationship Skills, Communication and Presentation skills to name a few. Our curriculum has students Team up, Envision and Plan how they're going to Present, Mentor and Train other students in other classes how to knot a neck tie on what we call GAME DAY. Our value proposition is the transformation and growth that teachers and administrators witness and can document as students progress through our lessons.
Here you will find instructional videos and downloadable course material to help guide teachers in accomplishing the goal of teaching young, male and female students how to knot a necktie; a necessary skill students will use and apply as they move forward in career and life. At the same time, the students receive mentorship and useful learning opportunities that we have documented as having a tremendous impact on developing social emotional learning outcomes as well as leadership, communication and presentation soft skills.
These course materials and curriculum are designed to seamlessly insert into the teacher's instructional process without the teacher having to gather any content or materials on their own. We will teach the class or work in a hybrid model with the teacher to deliver the course material.
Our program is engaging, empowering and transformational and benefits students, teachers and school administrators.
